*Why the Church Has Grown Passive and Passionless About Soul winning and missions*
Before a fire can be rekindled, we must diagnose why it went out. The passivity toward soul winning and missions stems from four critical failures:
*The Trap of Self-Absorbed Christianity*
Modern faith has been subtly re-engineered around the self—our comfort, our blessings, our peace, and our career breakthroughs. When the gospel is reduced to a tool for personal advancement, we lose sight of the eternal destiny of lost souls.
Spiritual Amnesia* Regarding Eternity
We have lost our holy fear of eternity. Heaven and hell are treated like abstract concepts rather than reality. We drive past thousands of dying souls daily without a flicker of grief because we no longer truly believe that a soul without Christ is lost forever.
The Illusory Comfort of the Four Walls*
We have confused gathering with fulfilling the mission. We sit inside air-conditioned auditoriums listening to messages about power, while the mission fields just outside our doors remain completely unharvested.
*Outsourcing the Commission*
Many believers view soul winning as the exclusive job of full-time evangelists, pastors, or paid missionaries. We have forgotten that every saved soul is called to be a soul winner. Salvation makes you an ambassador, not a spectator.
*The Call to Action: Rise Up to Pray, Give, and Go*
The harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few. The Great Commission is not a suggestion to consider; it is a command to obey. It demands a three-fold response from every believer.
*1. Rise Up to PRAY*
Real mission work begins on your knees. Jesus told us: "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Matthew 9:38).
*Targeted Intercession:* We must pray for unreached people groups, closed nations, and the safety and bold witness of frontline missionaries.
*Braking Spiritual Resistance:* Prayer breaks the territorial strongholds that blind the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4).
*Birthing Burden:* You cannot pray consistently for the lost without God breaking your heart for what breaks His.
*2. Rise Up to GIVE*
Missionaries cannot run on empty tanks, and the gospel cannot advance globally without kingdom finance.
*Strategic Investment:* Your money goes where your heart is. Investing in soul winning and missions is storing up treasure where moth and rust cannot destroy.
*Empowering the Frontlines:* When you give, your finances become Bibles in remote villages, fuel for mission vehicles, and shelter for frontline workers.
*Partnership in the Reward:* Those who stay with the supply lines share equally in the victory with those who go to the battlefront (1 Samuel 30:24).
*3. Rise Up to GO*
If God has given you breath, you have a commission.
*Go Locally:* Your mission field begins the moment you step outside your front door—your office, your campus, your neighborhood, and your marketplace.
*Go Globally:* Some are called to cross oceans, learn new languages, and plant churches among unreached tribes. If God calls you to go, do not let comfort anchor you to the shore.
*Live Sendable:* Every Christian must either be a goer or a sender. Anything else is disobedience.
*The Final Mandate*
*"The harvest is abundant, but the time is short."*
*History will not measure the church by how many people sat in our pews, but by how many believers we deployed into the harvest field. Shake off the slumber of passivity. Rekindle the altar of your heart. Pray with urgency, give with radical generosity, and go with unshakeable boldness. Souls are hanging in the balance, and the Master is calling.*
