Mission to Save Alive (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by . This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.missiontosave.com.ng, how we use it, and the choices you have. Account registration — username, email address, display name, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and optionally a profile photo and bio.
Comments — your name, email address and the comment you post.
Newsletter — your email address.
Contact form — your name, email address and message.

Information collected automatically:

Visit data — pages viewed, date and time, referring page, browser type and device, and your IP address. We use the IP address to estimate your country and city through the ip-api.com geolocation service, and to protect the site against abuse.

2. How we use your information

To publish and run the website, including your account, saved articles and comments.
To send emails you request (account verification, password resets, newsletters).
To reply to messages sent through our contact form.
To understand which content readers find useful and to improve the site.
To detect and block spam, fraud and abuse.
To show advertising that helps keep our journalism free to read (see section 5).

Our legal bases are your consent, the performance of our agreement with you (for accounts), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site — such as our web host, email delivery, Cloudflare (security and performance), Google (analytics and advertising) and ip-api.com (location lookup) — or when required by law.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

Essential cookies — keep you signed in and protect forms from misuse. The site cannot work properly without them.
Analytics cookies — such as Google Analytics, which help us understand how visitors use the site.

We keep account information while your account is active. Comments remain published until removed. Visit data and location lookups are kept only as long as needed for statistics and security. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, and receive a copy of your data. To make a request, email info@missiontosave.com.ng. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our articles may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
